We are a community-driven movement working to keep Randwick Council beaches and streets free from parking meters.
The introduction of parking meters threatens the character of local neighbourhoods, increases costs for families and visitors. It puts pressure on local shops and financially discriminates against those from outside the area visiting the beach.

Stand up for our beaches — sign the petition and share your story. Randwick doesn’t need paid parking.
Only one free permit per household which will only entitle you to park for free for the time duration of each metered parking bay. eg. You’ll get one hour free in a one hour parking meter. Forget free all-day parking! No mention of this in the Randwick Council Have Your Say Survey!
The proposed paid visitor parking scheme is inequitable for people who travel from outside the area. The beach should be FREE for all to enjoy!.
Out-of-area family, friends, carers and tradies will have to pay to visit. That will affect kids’ sport, nippers, and adult sporting and social clubs.
Meters will push parking into nearby untaxed streets.
Watch for parking meter creep — it may not be on your street now, but it could be later. Council has already suggested this.
Meters = 365 days a year Paid Parking.
Visitor numbers peak in summer, but Randwick residents would pay fees and fines all year.
The Beach should be affordable for all to enjoy!
